Welcome to Glossop Primary School
Glossop Primary School provides a safe, stimulating learning environment
in which every child is assisted to reach their full potential.
The school focuses on Habits of Mind, which are explicitly taught and
developed in all students as they progress through the school. A strong
emphasis
on how children think and learn ensures success for all.
Teachers are up-to-date
with current developments in Early Childhood,
Middle Primary and Middle
Schooling pedagogies.
Well-maintained modern facilities include four classrooms based on the
"schools in houses" concept. Each classroom is equipped with an Interactive
Whiteboard and computer workstations, and there is a central computer
room.
Other learning spaces include a Resource Centre, Activity Room,
Art/Craft Room
and large, covered outdoor learning areas. There are extensive play areas and
sporting grounds. A wide range of curriculum topics are taught
and extra-curricular
involvement includes Instrumental Music, SAPSASA
Carnival events, arts and drama
workshops and sporting clinics.
As a small school, Glossop Primary has a family-like atmosphere, with serious consideration given to the well-being of all members of our community.
